40KN U40B Disc Suspension Porcelain Insulator
video
product description
Ordinary insulators are suitable for general areas. Properly increasing the number of insulators can also improve the pollution flashover performance. Disc suspension porcelain insulator is a special insulation control, which can play an important role in overhead transmission lines.
High voltage line pollution resistant disc-shaped suspension porcelain insulator is suitable for industrial dust, chemical industry, saline alkali, coastal and foggy areas. It is used for insulation and fixed conductors on high-voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines. It is generally assembled into insulator strings for power lines in different voltage levels and different pollution areas.
Suspension disc insulator
Standard: Typically complies with IEC 60383, GB/T 1001 (depending on region).
Mechanical Strength: 40 kN (Ultimate Tensile Load).
Material: High-alumina porcelain (excellent dielectric & mechanical properties).
Creepage Distance: ~200–400 mm (varies by design; optimized for pollution resistance).
Voltage Rating: Used in 11 kV to 765 kV systems (multiple discs can be串联 for higher voltage).
Design Features:
Ball-and-socket or clevis-and-tongue coupling for string assembly.
Smooth glaze finish to reduce contamination buildup.
Primary Usage
This insulator is designed for:
Overhead transmission lines (suspending conductors from towers).
Dead-end & tension applications (where mechanical load is critical).
Substation busbar & equipment support.
Harsh environments (coastal, industrial, or high-pollution areas).
Key Advantages
(1) High Mechanical Strength (40 kN Load Capacity)
Withstands heavy conductors (e.g., ACSR, AAAC) and extreme weather (ice, wind).
Reliable in long-span transmission lines (e.g., river crossings, mountainous areas).
(2) Excellent Electrical Performance
Low leakage current due to high-quality porcelain.
High puncture resistance (no internal cracking under high voltage).
(3) Pollution & Weather Resistance
Glazed surface prevents water absorption & contamination.
Long creepage path reduces flashover risk in polluted areas.
(4) Durability & Long Service Life
Resists UV degradation, corrosion, and thermal cycling.
Maintenance-free for decades (unlike polymer insulators in some conditions).
(5) Modular Design
Multiple discs can be connected in strings for higher voltage lines (e.g., 220 kV, 500 kV).
